How can 12-step philosophies help me with self-isolation during COVID-19?
When 12-step programs are mentioned to people who are not in recovery or who do not suffer from addiction, there is a bit of cognitive dissonance as they do not, or can not, see the relevance.
But in fact, many of the philosophies that 12-step programs teach us are the same that we would use during any crisis or similar situation.
To satisfy our cognitive dissonance, we need to understand that the goal of these programs is to improve emotional and mental health well-being, and not just addressing the physical addiction.
