Family Addiction Treatment Program

The Arc Counselling 6-week Family Program is designed to help loved ones of addicts by educating participants about the disease of addiction and providing a new set of tools to cope.  Our professional counsellors facilitate a constructive learning environment conducive to thoughtful, respectful, and caring interactions.

The Arc Counselling 6-Week Family Program involves extensive group programming over a six week period on Wednesdays at 6 pm to 8 pm CST time.

The program includes Psychoeducational and group therapy. The topics covered in the program are: denial, disease theory of addiction, enabling vs empowerment, guilt/shame and grief and grieving, boundaries, communication, anger, resentment, fear, and anxiety, self care, forgiveness and support outside the family system. Through this process, participants work to overcome the challenges of a loved one’s addiction, learn to set healthy boundaries, and rebuild relationships.

Arc Counselling 6-Week Family Program participants who desire additional individual, couples or family counselling with Arc counsellors, may do so at an additional cost.  These sessions are done by video conference or telephone.
